A car that has been stolen and recovered normally has the "category d" classification.
Because of the stigma that can be attached to category d cars, a car that has been stolen then recovered, and which has suffered no major damage can be an absolute bargain buy. Some stolen vehicles will be unrecorded and therefore uncategorised.
